Corporate Responsibility

At Pinnacle we have strong convictions about the role of the company.

Society

We are responsible to society. We give free places on our open training courses to communications staff from our database of charities and other non-governmental organisations. The skills that they develop add great value to the work that they undertake in fields as diverse as emergency disaster relief and the education of children with special needs. We have also undertaken a range of pro bono projects ranging from website design and hosting to message development and strategic consulting. All of our employees receive an additional week of paid leave every year to volunteer for a charity of their choice. One of our favourites is Kids Company (www.kidsco.org.uk).

Environment

One of the greatest challenges that this and future generations will face is climate change through the emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2). Pinnacle has commissioned a study to measure the carbon footprint of our company – the amount of carbon that is emitted by all of our facilities and activities. That includes our office buildings in London and Brussels, as well as transportation: both everyday commuting and international flights for our consultants and trainers to client sites and events. We will offset every gram of carbon that we produce by investing through the CarbonNeutral Company (www.carbonneutral.com) in projects around the world that save equivalent amounts of CO2. These projects also benefit local communities directly in a variety of ways. Solar and hydro schemes, for example help stimulate local economies, improve health and create work, while sequestration forestry projects recreate native woodland and valuable wildlife habitats. Our clients’ travel will also be offset: when you come to our offices, conferences or seminars for training or consulting, we will plant trees or invest in other carbon offsetting projects to make the journey carbon neutral.

Pinnacle also recycles all waste paper and card produced in our offices. When we upgrade computers, mobile phones and other technology, the originals are donated to charities for refurbishment and reuse or sale.

People

We are responsible to our own people. We are an equal opportunities employer in practice as well as principle: our staff and trainers represent a wide spectrum of gender, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion and physical ability. Breadth of experience is a fundamental asset in this global communications age, and we reflect the variety of our international client base. We are diverse, and united by an absolute commitment to quality and service. Our ongoing internship programme offers structured work experience and training to promising professionals and is highly sought after, with more than 300 applications in 2006.
